Robert J. Rittmeyer, 69 of Coloma died Tuesday, December 15, at his residence.

Services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, December 19, at Trinity Lutheran Church in St Joseph. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Coloma Cemetery. Following the committal service the family will receive friends at a luncheon provided in the fellowship hall of Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorial donations in memory of Bob may be made to Hospice at Home of St Joseph, the YMCA Aquatics, or to Trinity Lutheran School. Robert was born Dec 6, 1940 in Chicago to Ervin and Juanita (Bourne) Rittmeyer. He had served in the US Coast Guard and was employed by the Berrien County Health Dept, retiring in 2001. Bob was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Economics Club, and the Paw Paw Lake Yacht Club. He truly loved nature, the outdoors and being around his grandchildren, whether it was at one of their sporting events or fishing on Paw Paw Lake. Visiting national parks and traveling across the US with his wife was something he treasured.

Survivors include his wife Beverly whom he married May 24, 1996; four step sons, Terry (Kim) Barinka of St Joseph, Lou (Rachelle) Barinka of Dallas, Tim (Mary) Barinka of Austin, MN, Shawn (Lisa) Barinka of Mesa, AZ, and four step daughters, Jan (Mark) Booth of Mesa, AZ, Fay (Kevin) Keane of East Jordan, MI, Cathy (David) Schaffer of St Joseph, and Christine Schares of Mesa, AZ. Also surviving are 15 step grandchildren and good friends Felicia and Jim Healy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Betty.
