Allen Curneal, 76 of Coloma passed away unexpectedly, Dec 6 at Lakeland Medical Center - St. Joseph.
Per his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating his life will be 4:00 pm Thursday, Dec. 17 at Midway Baptist Church in Watervliet of which he was a member. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan. Allen was born November 25, 1939 in Benton Harbor to Clarence and Maude (Hill) Curneal. For over 40 years he owned and operated Curneal Stamping and Manufacturing in Benton Harbor. He currently was employed as a currier for Edgewater Bank, a job he truly enjoyed. Allen was a volunteer for the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan and United Way of Southwest Michigan. He also was a member of the Coloma Rod and Gun Club and former member of the Exchange Club and Moose Lodge 1570 in Benton Harbor.
Allen was a history buff who enjoyed his coffee and in his spare time loved traveling, reading and photography.
Survivors include his wife Retta (Deal) whom he married July 4, 1988 in Dickson, Tenn; a daughter Dianna C. (Jeffrey) Marquardt of Watervliet, his brother Larry (Carol) Curneal of Bellaire, MI; two grandsons, James (Julie) Marquardt and Jesse Marquardt, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his canine fur babies Kadee, Koko, and Milo.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Steve Curneal.
