Anita Kay Friend passed away December 23, 2023 in Winter Haven, Fla. Anita was born in South Haven on May 5, 1947 to Margaret and Alex Sebestyen Jr. She has lived in Michigan most of her life.

Anita was a graduate of Coloma schools and Sodergreen School of Horsemanship, in Laramie, Wyo. She worked as a bookkeeper until retiring to the blueberry farm, where she became a full time blueberry farmer.

Anita enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, art, sewing, reading, trap shooting and teaching hunter safety so that the younger generation could safely enjoy the outdoors as she did.

Anita is preceded in death by her husband Steve, mother Margaret (Riemer) Sebestyen and father Alex Sebestyen.

She is survived by a daughter Roberta (Sebestyen) DeVane (husband Brian DeVane) of Ocala, Fla; a step-daughter Yvette (Friend) Woerishofer (husband Timothy Woerishofer) of Appleton, Wis.; one sister Pamela (Sebestyen) Holderman (husband Richard Holderman) of Winter Haven, Fla.; and five grandchildren Rachel DeVane, Kyle DeVane, Mackenzie Woerishofer, Alexis Woerishofer and Clinten Woerishofer. Also surviving are two great grandchildren Harper and Wyatt DeVane and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Per Anita's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private burial of ashes will take place at North Shore Memory Gardens. Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home is assisting the family.
