Arlene "Dolly"
Arent
Jul 19, 1931 — Nov 21, 2016
Arlene (Dolly) Gertrude Arent, 85, peacefully passed away November 21, 2016 at her residence at Woodland Terrace in Coloma.
Dolly was born July 19, 1931 to Herman and Lydia Schick in Chicago. The family moved to Coloma where Dolly graduated from high school in 1946. She attended Western Michigan University. She married Tilferd Arent on June 15, 1957 and they raised their family in Coloma.
Dolly was an excellent seamstress, sewing both her daughter's wedding gowns. She cross stitched many beautiful items throughout the years, and acquired her handywoman skills from her hard working father. Dolly was a devoted servant of the Lord, and spent many years volunteering in her churches….the United Methodist Church of Coloma, the Free United Methodist Church of Watervliet and most recently, Midway Baptist Church of Watervliet. Anyone who knew Dolly knew of her love for schnauzers, especially the two who shared her life, Gretchen and Fritzi.
Dolly is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl (Rick) Ryno of St. Joseph, Diane (John) Sonefeld of Ludington; four grandchildren, Jason Ryno of Lansing, Jennifer Pratt of Stevensville, Matt (Holly) Sonefeld of Grand Blanc and Bethany Sonefeld of Austin, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Travis Pratt.
Dolly was preceded in death by her parents; sister Violet; son Chris; husband Tilferd; brothers-in-law Noble, Norman, Carl and Wesley; and sisters-in-law Marilyn and Ann.
