August W. Paustian, 95, of Eau Claire, passed away on March 12, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.

A funeral service  will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial of ashes with military honors  will take place in Shanghei Cemetery at a later date. August was born February 11, 1924 in Eau Claire to John and Flora (Hammerling) Paustian.   He retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 40 years of service. August was also a farmer throughout his entire life. He was a World War II Veteran who served in the United States Air Force and received numerous medals. He had a passion for polka dancing, hunting and being "Grandpa". He and his wife also enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida for the past 30 years.

August is survived by his wife of 65 years Joahnita (Hiler) Paustian; his son Ricky Lee Paustian of Dowagiac; daughter Sandra Jean Spitzer of Allegan; and two grandsons Samuel and Ethan Spitzer of Allegan.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Barbara Ann Paustian, brothers Earnest and Irving Paustian, sisters Minnie Geister, Elsie Brarthen, Lenna Marron and Emma Betts.
