Carol Purkis, 85, of Coloma, passed away on August 24, 2015 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland. Carol was born December 15, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Harry and Wilma (Foster) Bockewitz. Carol was a member of the North Berrien Senior Center and the North Berrien Artist Guild. Carol is survived by her four children Caryn (Keith) Krieger of Coloma, Claude (Eva) Purkis III of Modesto, CA, Carla Purkis of Madison Heights, MI, and Cullen Purkis of West Bloomfield, MI. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Claude who passed away in 1987 and a sister Sue Loss.
