Craig Alan Quattrin, 49, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away suddenly on January 2, 2016 in Quincy, Florida.

Funeral services were held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Quincy, Florida. A memorial service will be held in the Spring in St. Joseph. With trepidation, Craig entered this world "bald, as a ping pong ball" on March 9, 1966 at Mercy Hospital, Benton Harbor as the fourth of what would eventually be five children to Patricia Ann (Sink) Quattrin and Dale Emil Quattrin.

With Craig's arrival, the Quattrin family would never be the same. His early life was a joyous series of antics and adventures. From the nightly "Craig Show" at the family dinner table, spontaneous Muppet puppet shows, Batman characters, and Three Stooges imitations, he kept the family laughing, entertained, and continually asking, "What will he do next?"

Craig attended Lake Michigan Catholic Elementary School and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1984 where he was a drummer in the Marching and Jazz Bands. In his senior year, he formed a small "garage" band that played at some school functions and the Venetian Festival, but more often in the family garage, to the delight of neighbors. His penchant for playful antics continued throughout high school and resulted in a close but friendly personal relationship with the school's assistant principal. Craig will forever be remembered for dipping and kissing the president of the St. Joseph School Board at the graduation ceremony after she handed him his diploma. Even thirty years later, his siblings are frequently asked if they are Craig's brother or sister and then entertained with another amusing Craig story.

After graduation, Craig proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Brunswick, Maine and Reykjavik, Iceland with short deployments around the Atlantic. Prior to their discharge from the Navy, Craig, in typical free-spirited fashion, eloped with Debbie Bullington and subsequently settled in Quincy, Florida, where he established and successfully ran Craig Quattrin Landscaping until his death. In 2011, Craig married Janine Clark, and in 2014, he and Janine purchased the landmark West End Grille in Quincy. During his spare time, Craig was a member of a NASCAR Tow Truck crew and Track Drying Machine crew based out of the Daytona Speedway. As a member of the tow truck crew, Craig can be seen covered in a full body fire suit in the dramatic crash scene of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

Craig's greatest passions in life were his family, Notre Dame Football, and deer hunting. He frequently made it a point to return to Southwest Michigan to deer hunt with his father and attend Notre Dame-Navy games. While his loyalty was tested every year, his love for Notre Dame grew to a passion, evidenced by the presence of the Notre Dame leprechaun on everything,   including his body. It is a small consolation to his friends and family that his untimely death occurred while combining two of his other passions: deer hunting with his wife on their wooded property.

Craig is survived by his wife, Janine Quattrin of Quincy, Florida; two daughters, Lyndsey Anne and Maggie Mae Quattrin, of Fort Walton Beach; step-daughter and step-sons, Jenna, Raymond and Levi Clark of Quincy; granddaughter, Bryleigh Sikora of Fort Walton Beach;  parents, Dale E. and Dr. Patricia Ann Quattrin of St. Joseph; brothers Dr. Dale (Chip) W. (Carol) Quattrin of Sodus, Christopher Quattrin of St. Joseph, and Michael Cory (Susan) Quattrin of McKinney, Texas; sister Dr. Cathleen (Brett) Taylor of Stevensville; nieces and nephews, Caleb and Cianna Quattrin of Sodus, Samuel, Noah, and Micah Hanau of Stevensville, Mercedes Quattrin of Chicago, Emilio, Carmen, and Manuel Quattrin of St. Joseph, Lilliana and Matteo Quattrin of McKinney, Texas; and many, many friends who call him brother.

A joyous spirit full of fun and laughter has been lost way too soon.
