David C. Sweet, 87, of Hartford, passed away on January 1, 2018 at Country Side Nursing Home in South Haven.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 6 from 11-12 p.m. at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma followed by private graveside services at Maple Hill Cemetery in Harford.  Those wishing to leave a message or share a memory with the family online may do so by selecting the link on this page.

David "Snooks" Sweet was born December 23, 1930 in Watervliet to Charles and Dolores (Bailey) Sweet. He was an Army veteran who served during the Korean War era in California.  Following his military service, David drove truck for 12 years and loved all of his fellow drivers. He later worked at Duffy Motts, the Van Buren County Fruit Exchange and Hilltop Nursery.  David had a love for his model trains, working on his pool and yard, having coffee with friends, watching NASCAR and spending time with his grandchildren.

David is survived by his three children David Wayne (Rhonda Estes) Sweet, Shaun (Julie) Sweet and Shelly Ann (Brian) Simpson all of Harford.  He is also survived by his three grandchildren Emily (Aldo) Romero, Autumn Sweet and Matthew Simpson, his three great grandchildren Rinoa and Roslyn Romero and Mia McLaughlin, sister in law Barbara Sweet and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne Marie Sweet in 2012 and his brother Warren "Skike" Sweet.
