David A. Umphrey, 56, of Benton Harbor passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Lakeland Medical Center in St Joseph.

A celebration of Dave's life will begin 2 pm Saturday, August 19 at his residence.  Cremation has taken place.  Those wishing to leave an online message of remembrance may do so by using the "guestbook" link located on this page.

David was born December 24, 1960 in Benton Harbor to Duane and Betty (Munson) Umphrey.  After graduating from high school he took a job at Ridge and Kramer where he worked for over 30 years managing and overseeing several locations.  In his free time Dave enjoyed watching NASCAR, working on cars in his garage, fishing, mushroom hunting, and listening to classic rock and roll.

Dave is survived by his children; Spencer and Julia Umphrey; their mother Sharon Umphrey; a sister Linda Westfall; brother Darren Umphrey; and two granddaughters Kendra Gillan and Kynlee DeKeyser all of Benton Harbor.

He was preceded in death by his mother Betty in 2013 and his father Duane in April of 2017
