Dennis G. Barton, 71 of Coloma, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at Caretel Inn of Lakeland in St. Joseph.
Funeral services with Military Honors will be held 10 am Friday, October 21 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma where visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 pm. Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Dennis may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Dennis was born July 9, 1945 in Detroit to Joseph and Eileen (Klan) Barton. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era. In addition to being a member of the Coloma American Legion, he was also the former Post Commander for the South Haven American Legion and Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus in Grand Haven. Dennis worked for General Motors until 1976 followed by Autocall, Inc. until 1990. He then owned and operated Seaway Systems for 17 years. Following the sale of his business in 2008 he continued in alarm systems as an independent contractor. In his free time Dennis enjoyed cooking along with gun and coin collecting.
Survivors include his life partner, Jan Barton of Bridgman; four children; Denny Barton of Macomb, Mich., Shannon Lopacki of Sterling Heights, Mich., P.J. Barton of Chicago, Ill. and Colleen Kelleher of San Francisco, Calif. Also surviving is a sister Sandy LoValvo of New Baltimore, Mich and 11 grandchildren.
