Diane Katherine Miel, 72, of Benton Harbor passed away peacefully in the overnight hours of May 7, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with COPD.

Diane was born in Muskegon to Ralph and Burnetta (Lubbers) Sircher, Sr. on July 8, 1951.

Originally from Muskegon, she spent most of her life in Benton Harbor.  She ran paper routes for the Herald Palladium for a number of years before going on to provide Home Care to the elderly prior to becoming disabled in a car accident in the fall of 2001.

She enjoyed going out with friends and watching karaoke, enjoyed her flower gardens, loved many special dogs and cats over the years.  She opened her heart to every stray that came around.  Her home was always open to those in need.  She lived her life on her own terms and never felt the need to give in to what others thought.  She was tough as nails and had grit and determination through the very end.

Diane was married and divorced twice during her time to Allen Duane Miel, formerly of Muskegon, and Dale Miller of Benton Harbor.

She raised three children, Teresa (Chuck) Wise of Hartford, Tracy Olexa of Benton Harbor, and Walter "Wally" Miel of Benton Harbor. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren; Cheyenne Findlay, Shelby Findlay, Austin Findlay, Kelly Miel, and Kayla Miel, and one great granddaughter Kaylee May Findlay.  Also surviving is one brother, Gerald (Elsi) Sircher of Hart, MI and several special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by a brother Russell Sircher and another brother Ralph Sircher, Jr who passed one day prior to her passing.
