Obituary

Edith L. Leva, 82 of Sodus passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday, March 23 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma where the family will greet friends beginning one hour prior to the service.  Burial of her ashes will be next to her husband in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.  Those wishing to leave an online message of remembrance may do so by using the "Guestbook" link located on this page.

Edith was born April 18, 1936 in Sodus Township to Walter and Norma (Schaub) Dewey.

She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1955.  In 1977 she married the love of her life, John B. Leva, MD.  She worked as his receptionist until his death in 1985. She then worked at Kalin Construction from 1986 until her retirement in 2002. She was a life member of TOPS and also a member of SS John & Bernerd Parish in Benton Harbor.  When time would allow Edith loved to travel, visiting 48 of the United States

In addition to her husband and parents, Edith was preceded in death by her brother Vincent Dewey, sisters, Joyce Dewey, Inez Mann, Gladys King, Carol Mann and Bonita Genovese, along with two nieces and four nephews.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews who love her dearly and will miss her more.  Aunt Edie you are loved more than you know and will be dearly missed. You were always there for your family.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or charity of your choice.
