Elnora Z. Hartman, 85, of Coloma, passed away on April 17, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Elnora's memory may be made to the Watervliet Free Methodist Church Building Fund. Elnora was born May 11, 1934 in Grand Rapids to Robert and Reva (Jontz) Carpenter. She graduated from Butterworth School of Nursing in 1956 and began her career working at Munson Hospital in Traverse City. She also worked for various home health agencies including for terminally ill children. Elnora and her husband Walter were married Sept. 23, 1956 and they resided in Traverse City until moving to Coloma in 2002. Elnora was a former member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Traverse City and currently attended Watervliet Free Methodist Church in Watervliet. When her children were growing up, she was known as the neighborhood nurse and was very well known for her flowers later in life. Elnora enjoyed reading, gardening, playing cards, TV and took on painting for quite a few years as well. Most of all, she loved her family.
Elnora is survived by a daughter Victoria Betty (David) Nichols of Traverse City, Mich, her son Richard (Leesa) Hartman of Coloma; six grandchildren, Ryan (Colette) Nichols, Rachael (Jarrod) Galbincea, Jon (Lisa) Morton, Chad (Casey) Hartman, Vince Hartman, Cameron (Haley) Hartman, and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Doug (Amy) Carpenter of Traverse City, two sister in laws Diane Carpenter and Mary Heffelfinger and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 2018 and siblings Roberta "Bobbie" Ferris and Dan Carpenter.
