Esther L. Turney, 95, of St. Joseph, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at her home in the presence of her family.

Esther was born on October 18, 1928 in Higden, Arkansas. She was one of five children born to Moses and Ann Barnum. Esther graduated from Higden High School and shortly thereafter met her future husband Floyd Turney. The couple married on May 16, 1947 and had celebrated 67 years together prior to Floyd's passing in 2014. They eventually moved to Michigan where they raised their own family of a daughter and three sons.

Esther enjoyed gardening and attending rummage sales, as well as watching Wheel of Fortune and The Price Is Right. She was happiest though when she was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Esther is survived by three sons, Floyd "Danny" (Millie) Turney, Rodger (Shirley) Turney, and Don (Jane) Turney, eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, her daughter Mary Miller and her husband Leon, and several brothers and sister.
