Evelyn M. Altherr, 61 of Benton Harbor passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital.

Evelyn was born July 27, 1961 in Benton Harbor to Edwin and Susan Hicks.  She received her Batchelor's Degree in Radiology and had worked for Lakeland Medical Center the past 36 years.  Evelyn truly loved the time spent with all of her close friends and family.  She also enjoyed going camping and always looked forward to her trips, so much so, she and Larry traveled to every state except Hawaii and Alaska.

Evelyn is survived by her husband Larry whom she married August 20, 1983 in Benton Harbor; three daughters, Susie Marie Altherr-Garner of Benton Harbor, Sammie Nicole (Danny Head) Altherr of Benton Harbor, and Carrie Pietsch of Florida.  Also surviving are three sisters, Patricia Swigart of Florida, Diann Harbin of Coloma, and Carol Kozma of Florida, one brother Edwin Hicks of Coloma and three grandchildren, Keilee and Addisyn Garner, and Riley Head.

Evelyn was preceded in death by a son John Edwin Altherr, grandson Peanut Garner, a sister Betty Abbott and a brother Charles Hicks.
