Evelyn Joyce Spies, 89 of Benton Harbor, passed away December 24, 2023 at Stately Living in St. Joseph.

Evelyn was born February 2, 1934 in St. Joseph to Fred and Ida (Sherer) Hollaway. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evelyn enjoyed camping at Sandy Pines, vacationing in Fort Myers, Fla., watching the birds, gardening, and especially loved her flowers.

Evelyn is survived by her son Larry (Toni) Spies; grandchildren Jackelyn (Joe) Truman and Steve (Ashley) Spies; and her great grandchildren Taylor and Kenley Truman and Ella and Rylee Spies.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2017, her son Gary Spies and her special cousin Dorothy Koshar.
