Francis M. Tarpey (Fran) one of eleven children who were nurtured by Martin and Mary Tarpey.  He was predeceased by his parents and elder brother Mickey. Loving husband, father, brother, and friend passed from this life on Wednesday, January 19. 2022.  His siblings were Mickey, Tom, Jerry, Bob, Connie, Pete, Brian, Ann, Steve, and Phil.  He grew up in Highland Park, Illinois where he attended high school to pursue his artistic dreams in graphic arts, and he was always active in his local parish, Immaculate Conception as an altar boy, reader, lecter, song leader and tenor in the choir.  He went on to attend school at the Art Institute of Chicago to further his dreams in art. After school he started working in the graphics arts industry centered on advertising commercial art in Chicago.

Fran was active in the Church through an organization called the Young Christian Workers.  It was through this organization that he met his "muse" Lucrecia.  He was immediately smitten, but Lucrecia was no pushover and it took him four years to convince her to be his wife.  They were married October 10, 1964 and had two sons, Francis and Javier.

As technology changed the world, so did commercial art.  From retouching transparency photos using dyes to digital, Fran formed a digital art studio, Film Concepts, Ltd., with his son Javier furnishing technical expertise, and Francis assisting in daily logistics.  His other loves besides his wife were his "babies", the Buicks he owned over the years.  He also sang tenor in his local parish choir at Immaculate Conception.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be planned for a later date.
