Frank J. Davis, of Coloma, MI, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 27, 2021.
Frank was born on July 22, 1927 in Clinton, IN to Gilbert Frank Davis and Edith Jane Davis (Gilbert). Frank grew up in Benton Harbor and graduated from Benton Harbor High School and Western Michigan University. Frank joined the U.S. Navy as a Seabee and spent 2 years in Pearl Harbor, HI. After WWII, Frank played for the Chicago White Sox as a pitcher in their minor league system. While playing ball in Wisconsin Rapids, Frank met the love of his life; Helen Lucille Gazeley. They were married on July 5, 1952 and returned to Michigan where Frank started a long career as a Wood Pattern Maker with Star Pattern Mfg. and Whirlpool Corp.
Frank and Helen adopted and raised two wonderful children; Daniel Davis and Tamara Kettlehut (Davis). He spent countless hours loving and supporting his children at baseball, football, and basketball games, 4H fairs, and horse shows. Frank retired in 1992 and enjoyed numerous activities in retirement including golf, bowling, traveling, and spending time with his family. Frank was blessed with four grandchildren, Amber, Sarah, Chandler, and Kerrigan and three great grandchildren, Elise, Emilia, and Clara.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Bob, Jim, Dwayne, Elaine, and Roger. He is survived by his wife, Helen; his two children and their spouses, Elizabeth and Dale; grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4 P.M. Tuesday, Nov. 30th, at the Coloma United Methodist Church. Cremation has taken place. Those wishing to leave a message or share a memory with the family may do so online by selecting the Guestbook option on this page.
Memorial donations may be made to the Berrien County 4-H Foundation or the Coloma United Methodist Church. If you are unable to attend Tuesday's service but would like to make a memorial donation in Frank's memory, you may mail donations directly to the funeral home at 6548 Paw Paw Avenue, Coloma, MI 49038
