Frederick W. Kavanagh Jr., 92, of Watervliet, passed away on January 26, 2023 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home in Stevensville.

Funeral services with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma with burial following in Coloma Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

Memorial donations in Fred's memory may be made to Berrien County Animal Control.

Fred was born February 11, 1930 in Jackson, Michigan to Frederick Sr. and Helen (Garrison) Kavanagh. Following high school he joined the United States Navy during the Korean War era. Fred later retired from Clark Equipment after working there for 30 years. Most recently, Fred enjoyed going to the Hot Spot and Pour House in Coloma with friends for coffee.

Fred is survived by his son Patrick (Karen) Kavanagh; grandchildren Daniel (Jamie) Kavanagh, Elisabeth (Tim) Miller and Skyelar (Danny) Kavanagh; and great grandchildren Ivy and Wren Miller.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara and his daughter and son in law Stephanie (Gary) Butzbach.
