Gary Lewis, Sr., 79 of Watervliet, passed away peacefully, February 20, 2017, at Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Centreville, Mich.

Services celebrating Gary's life will be 11 am Friday, February 24 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma where visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 pm.  Burial will be in Keeler Cemetery.  Donations may be made to the Michigan Alzheimer's Association.  Those wishing to leave a message of remembrance may do so by using the "Guestbook" link located on this page.

Gary was born August 27, 1937 in Sister Lakes to Harold and Jeannette (Gould) Lewis.  He lived on Kodiak Island, Alaska before returning and graduating from Benton Harbor High School.  On June 13, 1959 he married the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Marilyn Willming.  Together, along with their family, they enjoyed many trips to their family cottages in Baldwin and later buying their own place in Ontario.  Gary was a Detroit Tigers fan and an avid sportsman who enjoyed anything outdoors including hunting, fishing, and softball in his younger years.  He was a kind hearted, soft spoken, gentle giant who truly loved his family, especially his great grand kids.

In addition to his wife survivors include a son Gary Lewis, Jr. of Sister Lakes; his daughter Linda ( Scott) Brown of Kalamazoo; a brother Bill (Dixie) Lewis of Geneva, Fla; three sisters Judy Arbogast of Sister Lakes, Penny Wilcox of Hartford, Virginia (Tony) Scheuer of Paw Paw; four grandchildren, Alyssa Lucker, Blake Lucker, Taylor Lewis, Forrest Lewis, and three great grandchildren, LeaMarie, Landon, and Olivia.
