George Bernard Walsh, of St. Joseph,  passed away on December 8, 2020 at the age of 86.  His deep love for his friends and family - whom he always greeted with a joke, a bit of sarcasm and a big smile.

George was born in Glens Falls, New York, the only child of Mary and Bernard Walsh. After graduation from St. Mary's Catholic School in Glens Falls, he enlisted in the Air Force.  He was a proud veteran of the Korean War.  Over the years, he kept in touch with many of his "War buddies" often attending military re-unions.  He loved to share military stories with his family and friends.

On November 15, 1975, George married Christania "Chris" the love of his life.  With this marriage, in addition to his three children, George was instantly the step-father to three children, Christania, Katrina, and Howard.  George and Chris went on to have a son, George B. Walsh, Jr. Throughout his life, George was hard-working husband doing all that was necessary to care for his family.  To his family, he was a caring and loving husband, father, and grandfather.

In 2011, he and his wife (Christania Walsh) moved from Williamsburg, Virginia to St. Joseph, Michigan to be closer to his step-daughter Christania (Thomas Waggoner).

George is survived by his children, Diana (Mario), Martin "Marty" (Rose), Brenda, Christania (Thomas Waggoner), Katrina (David Koren), and Howard and 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Mary Walsh, his wife, Christania Walsh (May 2020), and his son, George B. Walsh, Jr (May 2017).

George's life will be honored as he is laid to rest at Massachusetts National Cemetery with his wife and son at a later date.
