Geronda Faye Anderson, 86, of Sodus passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

Cremation has taken place. The family will have a memorial gathering at a later date.

Geronda was born April 21, 1939 in Clay Township, Missouri to Roy and Alberta (Borah) Penn. She was formerly employed at Meijer & spent many years as a waitress at Holly’s Landing in St. Joseph, Michigan.

She is survived by her son Chad Anderson of Sodus; daughters Karen Hysell of Coloma & Tina (Dee) Wall of Sodus; her grandchildren Ricky Hysell, Jennifer Hysell, Rebecca Alshawi & Ashley Slack; ten great grandchildren & one great-great grandchild. Also surviving are three sisters, Sandra Grooms, Merrie Stamps & Arlene (Lyle) Woodworth, all of St. Joseph, and her brother David Penn of Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in law Rick Hysell, a sister Carlene Malin & a brother Jerry Penn.
