Gladys Murphy, 81, of Hagar Township passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 6 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma followed by a burial of ashes in Lakeshore Hagar Cemetery. A memorial visitation will be held Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM. at the funeral home.   Memorials in Gladys's memory may be made to the North Berrien Senior Center. Gladys was born on March 29, 1937 in Benton Township to Chester and Jeannette (Gillem) Finehout.  She retired from Michigan Bell after over 25 years of service.  Gladys loved playing cards with friends, gardening, traveling and taking care of the family's 150 plus year-old homestead.

Survivors include her; two children John (Robin) Murphy, Jr. of Lansing and Becky (Brad) Young of Hagar Township; four grandchildren, Nathan and Rachel Murphy, and Nicholas and Joshua Young; and her grand dog Molly.

In addition to her parents Gladys was preceded in death by her husband John in 2011; three sisters, Thirza Emery, Cora Mae Lindenmann and Lois Babcock; and a brother David Finehout.
