A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet. Military Rites will follow. Visitation at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday and conclude with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Memorials in Harold's memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the church. Harold was born January 26, 1926 in Floral, Ark. to Charlie and Lillian (Salmon) Baker. During WW II Harold served his country in the United States Army and was a Purple Heart recipient. Following the war he moved to the Coloma area and married Jennie Galeno in 1947. The couple would have celebrated their 70th anniversary this August.
Harold retired from Clark Equipment Company in 1983 after 30 years of service. In addition to the D.A.V., he was also a member of the Coloma American Legion and the Coloma Rod & Gun Club.
Harold is survived by his wife Jennie; his son Johnny Baker of Watervliet; his niece Jane Falcone whom he loved like a daughter; two grandchildren, Christine Diane Baker Brocker and Benjamin James Baker; and five great grandchildren, Thor, Izzy, David, Colton and Rhys.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Albert Thomas Baker, Arthur "Speed" Baker, Clarence H. Baker who was killed in France during WW II, and Ones "Dean" Baker; and his sister Ruby Baker Holland.
