Homara L. (Umphrey) Wells, 77 of Coloma passed away Saturday, Dec 12, 2015 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home in Stevensville.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, Dec 18 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma.  Burial will follow in Coloma Cemetery.  Those wishing to leave an online message of remembrance may do so by using the "Guestbook" link located on this page.

Homara was born Jan. 23, 1938 in Coloma to Homer and Lucille (Ryno) Umphrey.  She graduated from Coloma High School in 1956 and later attended Lake Michigan College.  When her children were younger she had been a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader.  She also worked as a home health care aid and before she retired in 2003 she worked for the Forestry Department in Baldwin,  MI.  Homara was an AmVet honor guard, attended the Catholic church in Baldwin, liked doing needle work, painting ceramics, gardening, fishing, and just being outside.  She also loved animals, along with her cat, and spending time with family and friends as much as she could.

Survivors include her daughter Teresa (Bill) Hatfield and sister Sharon (John) Fox both of Coloma; three granddaughters Lindsey (Tony) Davis of Niles, Amy (Chris) Stanley and Jenny Hatfield both of Coloma; one grandson Cary (Amanda) Gess of Stevensville; four great grandsons, Mike Steinke, Ixac Gess, Zachary & Liam Stanley; one great granddaughter Annabelle Gess and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Wells, son Cary Gess and daughter-in-law Judy (Stelter) Gess.
