James L. Ott, 65, of Coloma, passed away on January 8, 2017 at his residence.

James was born October 29, 1951 in Benton Harbor, Mich. to Jack and Melissa (Scott) Ott. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era and was employeed by Lakeshore Body Shop for over 15 years. James liked working in the garage on classic cars, snowmobiles, boats, and motorcycles and helping any family or friends with auto maintenance.  He also loved fishing and camping trips to the U.P. with family and friends.

James is survived by his wife Carol of over 30 years, his children James Ott Jr. of Coloma, Laura Edmonds of Ft. Worth, Texas, David Conner of Fennville, Tammy Benne of Ft. Worth, Texas, Mary Wittig of Coloma and 10 grandchildren.  Also surviving are five sisters Nannette Patrick, Carolyn Clark, Annette Hopkins, Catherine Reneau, Karen Brewer and two brothers John and Joseph Ott.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Jay Ott in 2016.
