James Homer Varney, 85, of Lincoln Park, Michigan, formerly of Williamson, WV passed away September 28, 2016, in St. Joseph, Michigan.

He was laid to rest in Michigan Memorial Park next to his wife Austine who preceded him in death in 2009.  He was also preceded in death by a brother Robert L. Varney.

James was born Dec 13, 1930 in Williamson, WV to Homer and Alma (Wilcox) Varney.  He served in the National Guard from 1950 to 1959, was a member of the Williamson Masonic Lodge, and had owned and operated Jim's Barber Shop in Wyandotte, Michigan.

Survivors include his son Chuck (Diana) Varney of Stevensville, MI; granddaughters, Rebecca Rode of Lexington, KY and Sarah (Sean) McFerron of Holland, MI.  Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Taylor and Connor Rode, and Brayden and Riley McFerron.
