Jayne (Solomon) Metz, 72 of Coloma, passed away on Friday, July 28 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She was born July 15, 1951 in Gary, Ind. to the late Morgan A. and Eleanor A. (Krisko) Solomon. Jayne graduated from Lew Wallace High School in Gary, Ind. in 1969. She worked in retail services for many years and enjoyed connecting with customers, especially while employed at Walgreens in St. Joseph through 2007.

Jayne loved singing, dancing, pontoon boating and solving crossword puzzles. She enjoyed playing in bowling leagues and served as caregiver for family and friends as the oldest of five siblings. She found incredible joy in gathering and chatting with friends and family. She was recognized as a nurturer and maternal figure in the community - whether it was caring for her daughter's friends, or serving the sweetest tea to visitors, with or without the latest dish.

Jayne was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Morgan Solomon, and her first husband, Earle Williams.

Jayne is survived by her loving husband of nearly 30 years Ron Metz of Coloma; daughter Erin (John) Brown of St Joseph; step children Ron (Tricia) Metz of Coloma and  Trisha Barker of Stevensville; sister Jacqueline (Chris) McNabb of Blacksburg, Va.; two brothers Michael (Linda) Solomon of San Antonio, Texas and Patrick Solomon of Lake Station, Ind.; as well as her grandchildren Harper, Andi, Braeden, Ashlei, Ron, and Brandi; seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 4 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
