Jewel was born on April 12, 1948 in Benton Harbor, MI to Forrest and Evelyn Head. While attending Benton Harbor High School, she met the love of her life, Ronald Nimtz. The couple later married on February 4, 1967 and had recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Ron and Jewel enjoyed vacationing at Treasure Island, FL where Jewel enjoyed reading on the beach in the shade of the palm trees. She also enjoyed watching the many beautiful sunsets and rainbows. Her family and friends remember Jewel's infectious smile and her sense of humor. She was a very caring person; always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. She was also an avid animal lover. Jewel played a very important role in helping her daughter Cindy establish and run Circle "C" Stable in Benton Harbor. Stephanie eventually brought a grandchild named Skyler into their lives, and he became the center of Jewel and Ron's lives from that point forward.
Jewel is survived by her husband Ron; daughters Stephanie Blaylock of Watervliet and Cindy Nimtz of Benton Harbor; and her grandson Skyler of Watervliet. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Richard Head.
