John L. Knott, 91, of Coloma, MI passed away peacefully on January 21, 2022 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Friday, January 28 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma where viewing will begin one hour prior to the service.  A private family burial will take place at Marengo Village Cemetery on Monday, January 31, 2022.  Those wishing to leave an online message of remembrance may do so at www.duffieldpastrick.com.

John was born October 27, 1930 in Flint, MI to John and Edna (Taschner) Knott.  He received a Science and Technology degree from DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago.  He served in the Army during the Korean War.  He married Joan Young from Albion, MI on June 16, 1956.  He repaired televisions and briefly worked for Western Electric, then Sparton.  In January of 1964, he went to work for Commonwealth Associates in Jackson,  MI which later became Gilbert/Commonwealth.  During the 1970's he served in the Army Reserve and was active in Civil Air Patrol.  He was very active in the church, and was ordained October 9, 1994.  After retiring, he wrote a book.

John is survived by his two children, Ken Knott and Marie Hirzel of Coloma.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Joan in 2018.
