John E. Loomis, 70, of Covert passed away December 9, 2020 at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph.

Cremation has taken place.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a celebration of John's life will be held at a later date.  Donations in his memory may be made to Al-Van Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.  Those wishing to leave an online message of remembrance may do so by using the "guestbook" link located on this page.

John was born June 1, 1950 in Watervliet to Robert and Ellen (Schultz) Loomis. He retired from UPS in 2007 after 36 years of service.  John truly loved watching his grandchildren in all of their school and sporting events.  In his free time he enjoyed going to the races, fishing and just being with his family.

John is survived by his wife Vickie whom he married May 13, 1988; children, John (Tina) Loomis of Bangor, Kylie (Jeremiah) White of Covert, Jennifer (Scott) Schreier of Coloma, Robert Loomis of Allegan, and Timothy Loomis of Hartford.  Also surviving are two sisters, Barbara (Bruce) Turner of Lecanto, Fla, Lois Loomis of Grand Rapids, three brothers, Raymond (Glenna) Loomis of Coloma, Robert (Mary) Loomis of Coloma, Richard (Robin) Loomis of Hartford, sister and brother in law Alfred (Susan) Button of Kismet, Kan. and his six grandchildren, Mari, Jack, Jaidyn, Rachel, Ben, and Zaya.
