Jon was born May 15, 1947, in Benton Harbor to JF and Wilda Marie (Corby-Nelson) Wetmore along with his twin brother, Jay. Through the years they enjoyed playing many jokes on family and friends because in their youth, even their own mother sometimes could not tell them apart. She would lay out certain clothes for them so that she could tell them apart and they would switch them. He loved to tell stories to anyone he met. Jon began driving semi-trucks at the age of 17 and continued to throughout his life at Wilderness Foods and Pri Mar Petroleum, Inc., retiring in 2012.  He was also a Vietnam veteran of the United States Navy.  Jon truly loved working at the family farm in Benton Township with his twin brother Jay and in his free time enjoyed fishing, being up north, or just tooling around in his golf cart with one of his adored pets.

In 1970, Jon married Susan Froberg and together they share two beautiful daughters, Dawn and Rebecca, and have always remained friends.  In 1982, Jon married Joyce (Crowder) Goldner and this September they would have celebrated their 39 th wedding anniversary.  They blended their families and did their best together to raise five children.  He rarely missed an event for his grandchildren and loved them very much and truly enjoyed getting together with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Joyce Ann (Crowder) Wetmore whom he married Sept. 18, 1982; five children, Dawn (Dennis) Knoll of Portage, Mich., Rebecca (Russell) Wolverton of Portage, Mich., Debbie (Jeff) Pallas of Watervliet, Daniel (Jo) Goldner of Grapeville, Texas, and Amy (Scott) Melton of Rockford, Mich.  Also surviving are five grandchildren, Jessica and Lauren Patterson, Kaleb Kremers, Caswell Kremers, Kelseyann (Kyle) Wright, three great grandchildren, Valerie, Leilani, and Eliza Wright, along with a new great-grandbaby girl, Lennon LaPlante, arriving in October.

In addition to his parents, Jon was preceded in death by his twin brother Jay.  Jay's remains will be buried with Jon for eternity, as they would have both wanted.  They were inseparable.
