Junior Hess, 80, of Coloma, passed away Wednesday evening, Dec. 2, 2020 at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma with visitation beginning at noon. Masks will be required. Cremation will follow. Memorial donations in Junior's honor may be made to the Humane Society of SW Michigan. Junior was born June 28, 1940 in Moberly, Missouri. He was one of ten children of the Alfred and Hazel (Kendall) Hess family. He and Pamela Board were married on Dec. 12, 1958 in Davenport, Iowa and would have celebrated their 62nd anniversary next week. The couple moved to SW Michigan in 1959 to raise their own family of three children. Junior was an entrepreneur; owning and operating A-Abe Septic Tank Service until his retirement. Junior was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend who was always willing to help others. He loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was also a mentor to them and taught each how to be strong and independent individuals. He will be missed by the many lives he touched during his lifetime.

Junior is survived by his wife Pam; two sons Bill (Bonda Simmons) Hess of Covert and Mike (Doreen) Hess of Coloma; siblings Dewayne (Valerie) Hess of Newark, Ohio, Jack Hess of Coloma and Barbara Johnson of Moberly, Missouri; grandchildren Krysten (Kyle) Stillson, Dustin (Dana) Hess, Josh (Heather) Wise, Samantha Simmons and Elizabeth-Bitt Simmons; and great grandchildren Alexys Hess, Ben Hess, Kaylee Wise, Cody Hess, Chayse Ott, Kody Stillson, Masyn Hess, Layla Wise, Lucy Wise and baby Levi Simmons. Also surviving are his fur babies Sissy Girl and Kitty Blue.

In addition to his parents Alfred and Hazel, he is preceded in death by his daughter Lucinda Wise, brothers Paul Hess, Melvin Hess, Bobby Hess and Wayne Hess and sisters Doris Norris and Patty Shearn.
