Kenneth
Pillow
Jan 2, 1948 — May 20, 2019
Kenneth Pillow, the youngest child of the late Bethel (Cook) and James Pillow, died on May 20, 2019 after a long illness and complications due to diabetes and stroke. Born January 2, 1948 in Benton Harbor, MI, Ken graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1966 where he was inducted into the National Honor Society and was a proud starting guard for the Tiger football team. A recipient of The Sperry and Hutchinson Company scholarship award, he was a graduate of Michigan State University.
Ken lived in Benton Harbor his entire life and, as a young boy, loved exploring the town on his bicycle, riding with friends to Jean Klock Park, the House of David, "down town" for weekend movies and the Blossom Parade. In recent years, during his long battle with illness and disabilities, Ken found a great deal of enjoyment from corresponding with new found friends on the internet as well as working on his "system" for outsmarting the Michigan lottery.
At his core, Ken was a good and loving man, wishing nothing but the best for those he respected and loved. He was pre-deceased by his parents, his sister Barbara (Pillow) Kavanaugh, brother Don, and sister-in-law Janie Pillow. He is survived by his brothers Bud, Jim and his wife Gail, his sister-in-law Colleen (Coulson) Pillow, many nephews, nieces and cousins, and his dear friend Sandy Goldstein.
The family will be holding a private ceremony in remembrance of Ken.
