Larry was called home to be with the Lord June 7, 2017 at Hanson Hospice Care of Stevensville, Michigan.

Larry was born June 11, 1932 in Detroit to Donald and Margaret (Jobson) Vaught. In his senior year of high school the family moved to a fruit farm near Coloma and Larry graduated from Coloma High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married the former Dorothy Cogswell on May 10, 1958. They enjoyed 59 years of togetherness. Together, Larry and Dorothy attended Twelve Corners Community Church for years.

Larry is survived by his wife Dorothy and their sons, Kyle (Martha) Vaught of Rice, Va. and Dale Vaught of Maui, Hawaii; grandson Nathanael Vaught and granddaughter AnnaMarie Vaught, both of Rice, Va.; one brother James Vaught of Coloma; two furry friends "Rascal" and "Lady"; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 14th at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. Pastor Richard Sing will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Twelve Corners Community Church (Building Fund) at 3902 Hicks Avenue, Benton Harbor, MI 49022 or the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan.

Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman and really enjoyed the outdoors. As a young man he was a trapper. He taught his son to trap, hunt and fish. He belonged to the Van-Berrien Archers years ago, doing his deer hunting with his bow and arrows. Larry retired from Ameritech (AT&T) in 1992 after 35 years of service which he very much enjoyed because it was outside work. He also enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dennis Vaught and  infant brother Lee K. Vaught.
