Laura Mae Privett, 92, of Stevensville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 4, 2016 at Pine Ridge Nursing Facility in Stevensville.

Visitation for friends and family will be held on Sunday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 475 Green Street, Benton Harbor.

Memorial donations in Laura's memory may be made to the church, Hospice at Home, or North Berrien Senior Center.

Laura was born in Caruthersville, Missouri on February 1, 1924 to Jessie and Mary Ada (Woods) James. At age 18 on Dec. 23, 1942, she and Carmon Privett were married. In addition to raising their family of five sons and two daughters, Laura also worked outside of the home. Beginning as a machine operator she worked her way up to inspector  at Chardon Rubber  before retiring in 1986 after nineteen years. Laura was also a member of the Benton Harbor Order of The Eastern Star and the White Shrine.

Laura is survived by her children; Diann (Larry) Wycoff of Coloma, Norman Privett of Grand Prairie, Texas, Linda (Ramzi) Cortas of Dallas, Texas, Keith (Pam) Privett of Kimmell, Indiana, Dale (Lonna) Privett of Coloma, and David (Sherrie) Privett of Hastings, Minnesota; her sister, Virginia Boyd of North Carolina; 24 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carmon in 2001; her son Stephen in 1957;  her parents; her sister Mary Tull and her brother Edward James.
