Leslie Brown

Leslie M. Brown, 85, of Coloma, passed away in the presence of his family on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at his home.

Leslie was born March 23, 1940 in Manistique, Michigan, the son of Roland and Thelma Brown. He grew up in the Upper Peninsula. Leslie met his future wife Sharon there through his parents. Leslie moved to Berrien County at the age 16 and rekindled his friendship with Sharon. They were married five years later on Aug. 5, 1961. Leslie was a member of the Carpenters Union #525 and spent most of his career working at the Cook Nuclear Plant.

Leslie and Sharon continue to visit the U.P. annually, staying at their cabin. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing carpentry which involved anything from building homes to cabinets and furniture. He also did carpet and ceramic tile installations on the side. In later years he enjoyed visiting the casino. He also enjoyed going to the Sidetrack Café in Watervliet each morning with his daughter Darnel to share breakfast. His favorite times though were those spent with his family and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Sharon; his daughter Darnel Ross of Coloma; granddaughter Desiree (Michael) Ross-Schuler; great-grandchildren Mia, Mason, Isabella, Kate and Claire; his brother Roland "Milton" (Nancy) Brown, and sisters Beverly (Jim) Tufnell and Sheryl Wheeler.

He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Robert.
