Lewis W. Schubering, 93 of Coloma passed away Monday, December 18, 2023 at Caretel Inns of St. Joseph.

Per his wishes cremation has taken place.  Family burial of ashes with Military Honors will take place in Coloma Cemetery next to his wife Christine.  Those wishing to leave an online message of remembrance may do so by using the "Guestbook" link on this page.

Louie was born March 22, 1930 in Pipestone Township to George and Olga (Zirk) Schubering.  He graduated in 1949 from Benton Harbor High School.  Louie was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the V.F.W. Post 1137.  He also was employed for 34 years as an over the road truck driver through the Teamsters.  His favorite pastime and hobby was his backyard garden where he grew fruits and vegetables to share with his family and friends.

Survivors include a sister Lana Menzor of Lawrence, a niece, several nephews and his close neighbors, Deb and Bill Tenter.

He was preceded in death by his wife Christine in 2009, a brother George Schubering, and sisters Terry Koern and Marion Schadler.
