Obituary

Margo Lynne Humes, born September 6, 1946, in Coloma, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She lived a life grounded in love, kindness, and devotion, and her passing leaves a tender space in the hearts of all who knew and cherished her.

At the heart of Margo's life was her family. She was the beloved wife of Russell Humes, and together they built a life marked by companionship, laughter, and unwavering care for one another. They shared a love for the Chicago Cubs, Notre Dame football and women's basketball, camping, and, above all, cheering on their children and grandchildren at countless sporting events and school activities.

Margo is survived by her children, Scott (Dana), Tami (Rick), and Brian (Michelle); her grandchildren, Michael (Samantha), Tyler (Alivia), Nicholas, Justin, Lanie, Max, Grace, and Jack; her great-granddaughter, Millie; her sisters, Judy (Ranse) and Jan (Dave); her sister-in-law, Brenda; her cousins, Jackie (Gary), Bob (Sue), Jennifer, and Julie (Kam); and her many beloved nieces and nephews: Doug, Greg, Sheri, Michael (Kathy), Chuck, Susan (Jon), John (Lorie), Michael (Katherine), Laura, Amy, Tommy, Jennifer, Troy, Travis (Nichole), Matt (Kelsey), and Dan (Rachel).

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell; her son, Marc; her nephew, Trent; and her in-laws, Ray, Sharon, Ken, Marla, Jim, and Janice.

Margo will be missed beyond words and remembered with profound gratitude, love, and affection. Her gentle spirit, steadfast love for her family, and the countless memories she created will remain in the hearts of those who loved her always.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service at bccancerservice.org.

A celebration of Margo's life will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at the Woodbine Lodge, Riverview Park, St. Joseph from 5 to 8pm.
