Marietta "Etta" Distefano McGue passed away peacefully on November 17th, 2021 after a heroic battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 79 years old. Etta is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, William McGue, and her two sons, William John and Brian Loren. She's also survived by her sister Terri (Jerry) Warnke, brother AJ  (Donna) Distefano, nieces and nephews John Distefano, Angel (Distefano) Mitchell, Phil Molloy, Katie (Molloy) Dracup, Jason Warnke, JoEllen (Warnke) Stone, and Andrea Distefano. Etta was preceded in death by her father John, her mother Virginia, her sister Barbara, her brother Angelo, and her nephew Tony.

Etta was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who always made everyone feel special. She had endless energy and happily accomplished more in a day than most people could accomplish in a year.

Ahead of her time, Etta managed to juggle her career as a top sales person while maintaining her title of "best Mom ever" at home. Etta worked for Impact Label for 40 years, retiring in June 2012. An early riser, she often arrived at her office before sunrise and contributed much to the company's success through her roles in Procurement and Sales.

A former high school cheerleader, Etta took that talent to become a cheerleader for all of those whom she loved. She offered kind encouragement as only she could. Etta's engaging personality helped bring out the best in everyone she met.

Generous in every way, Etta shared her quick wit with everyone she met and instilled it in her children as a coping skill for life's challenges. She filled her home with love and laughter, decorating for every holiday, planting a garden every spring, always cooking and entertaining.

Etta loved spending time with her family and friends. She coordinated many Spring trips to Siesta Key, Florida. She was known for capturing the moment, always seen with a camera in hand. Etta's pictures and home movies captured many moments where she was making her loved ones laugh.

Upon retiring Etta and her husband Bill would spend time at their homes in Michigan and Florida, sharing laughs and good times with family and friends new and old. She loved to cook, bake, tell stories, and teach the next generation how to jitterbug.  In addition to her passion for entertaining her loved ones and excelling at work, Etta enjoyed photography, golf and racquetball.

Etta was outgoing, engaging, dedicated, humourous, personable, and so much more. Her enthusiasm and laughter were contagious. She will be missed, loved, and cherished by all who knew her. According to her son Bill, "my Mom filled our hearts with enough love and laughter to last a Lifetime."

Memorial donations in honor of Etta can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Hospice of Berrien County, Alzheimer's Society, or the Humane Society.
