Obituary

Marjorie Lois Zachary went home to be with her Lord March 14, 2018.  She was born to Dale and Mabel Bryant of Benton Harbor on June 16, 1920 and married Elba Allen Zachary Jr June 3, 1939.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma with visitation beginning one hour prior at noon. Memorials may be made to Caring Circle Hospice or the donor's choice.

Though she worked for Producers Creamery of Benton Harbor for more than 20 years, much of Majorie's spare time was devoted to her church, first the Free Methodist Church in Benton Harbor and later the First Church of the Nazarene in St. Joseph. She sang in a women's group on the radio, was active in running children's programs and taught Sunday School for children and adults for over 40 years. She loved sharing the Gospel of Christ and led many to follow Jesus. In later years, she volunteered as a chaplain at local hospitals and loved meeting and praying with people, offering them encouragement.

She loved to sew, knit, and crochet often giving a hand-crafted gift to friends and family.  For 20 years after her retirement, she hand-crafted Christmas ornaments for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marjorie will be remembered for her prayers, smile, laughter, compassion, generosity and love for others.  Some may remember her high energy and tenacious spirit, as evidenced by her determination to get her high school diploma, which she did in 1985.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen, her son-in-law, Buzz Pierce and her grandchildren Elizabeth Wagner and Dale Noack. She is survived by her brother Robert Bryant and her four daughters, Virginia Pierce, Judy (Gordon) Noack, Shirley (Gary) Welch, Barbara Wagner, 13 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.
