Obituary

Mary Joan Warmoth, 73, of Coloma, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at her home.

Mary Jo was born June 6, 1944 in Kankakee, Ill. to Howard and Barbara (White) Fischer.  She was a math teacher and department chair at Bishop McNamara High School for 30 years and enjoyed reading mystery novels, playing trivia games, working out at the gym and participating in the Coloma Library Book Club. Mary Jo was actively involved in parish activities and loved her work with all of the parishioners.  Above all, she loved attending activities of her grandchildren and spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years Raymond, and her children Patricia (Kevin) Fahey of Wheaton, Ill., Michael (Renee) Warmoth of Grand Haven, Mich., Britton Warmoth of Bourbonnais, Ill., and Kathryn Qualls of Allen, Texas.  Also surviving is her brother John Fischer of Alto, Mich., sister Cynthia Phillips of Jacksonville, Fla., 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Mary Jo is preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Altar and Rosary Society or the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan.
