Nicholas George Walker, 34, died unexpectedly at his residence on Nov. 21, 2017 in Chicago, Illinois.

Nicholas was born on September 22, 1983 in St. Joseph, Michigan, and graduated from Coloma High school in 2002, where he played varsity soccer (goalkeeper) and the trumpet in band. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Cedarville University in 2006, and participated in urban ministry in the Chicago area for a year. He entered seminary and graduated with a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2010. He worked for a non-profit, and was married to Rebecca Larsen from 2009 to 2014. Nick furthered his education by obtaining a Master's degree in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago in 2014. He was last employed with Mintel as a customer research analyst.

Nicholas enjoyed reading, music, lay-preaching and attending U of M home games at the Big house. He was a minimalist who valued education and placed service to others above material pursuits. He will be sadly missed.

Survivors include his father, George Walker of Coloma; paternal grandmother Eunice Tiffert of Coloma; sister Jessica (Jacob) Nunley of Grand Rapids, along with nephews Walker and Wyatt.

Nicholas was preceded in death by his mother Peggy Sue Walker in 2015.
