Perry Danny McNew, 70 of Coloma, passed away September 15, 2026 after a year long battle with cancer.

Funeral services will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. To honor Dan’s love for Harley Davidson, the family encourages those attending to wear orange and black. Dan was born February 15, 1956 in Hamilton, Ala. to George and Willowdean (Palmer) McNew. He worked for Michigan Fruit Canners, Blossomland Container and Chet Nichols, officially retiring July 20, 2015. Dan was an avid motorcyclist, once making the trip out to South Dakota. He would also ride with groups of friends and actively participate in motorcycle benefit rides. When not on his motorcycle, Dan enjoyed doing puzzles in the winter and when his boys were growing up, he coached baseball for many years.

Dan is survived by his wife Phyllis, whom he married September 1, 1984; sons David (Tammy) McNew and Chris (Kyleigh) McNew; brother Larry (Pam) McNew and twin brother Donnie McNew; grandchildren Katrina (Keegan) Lewis, Cain McNew, Cody Jenson, Danielle McNew and Ethon McNew and great grandchildren Makaiah McNew and Josiah Jenson.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his son Daniel McNew, siblings Carl, Jack, Gary and Shirley and mother in law Ocea Davis.
