Richard A. Gunn, 73, of Benton Harbor, passed away August 3, 2017 at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph.

Services celebrating his life will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 8 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma where the family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 pm up until the time of service.  Burial will follow in Coloma Cemetery. Richard was born January 12, 1944 in Manila, Arkansas to George and Liberty (Hill) Gunn.   At the age of 18, Richard joined the Navy during the Vietnam era and later married his wife Ernestine on July 31, 1966. Following the Navy, he began his career as a truck driver for 46 years.  Richard loved life and his morning coffee with his buddies at County Kitchen. He enjoyed county music, spending time with his family, spoiling his grandsons.  Richard was the type of person that never met a stranger.

Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years, his children Darran Gunn of Benton Harbor and Robin (Steve) Pipkins of Traverse City, grandsons Brad and Chad Pipkins,  brothers Lucian (Nancy) Gunn, Aubrey Gunn and Curtis (Barb) Gunn, sisters Gloria Dowdy, Janet Burtion and Edie (Frank) Brower, sister in law Pat (Larry) Andrasi and niece Nicole (Peter) Gioia.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Russel.
