Robert V. Faulkner, 80, of Coloma, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

Services with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at Duffield and Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be given to the American Heart Association.

Bob was born July 15, 1944, in Oak Park, Illinois, to Vincent and Elinor (Gentilin) Faulkner. He began working at age 14 with his father at Faulkner Educational Books before founding Faulkner Library Services. In 1985, he joined Grolier Educational Books and later worked for World Book Encyclopedia beginning in 1998.

He also served as a patrolman for Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, from 1976 to 1983, and was honorably discharged from the United States Coast Guard.

Survivors include four children, Dan (Rosy) Faulkner of Benton Harbor, Sandra (Kevin) Reed of Hartford, Anthony Faulkner of Olivet, and David (Stephanie) Faulkner of St. Petersburg, Florida; one sister, Mary Ann (Robert) Osland of Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Tiffany, Adam, Ryan, Chloe, Brianna, Sarah, and Bradley; and four great-grandchildren, Ava, Noah, Colton, and Spencer. He is also survived by his companion of the last 20 years, Gayle Gast.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, in 2001; his parents; and two sisters.
