Clifford "Shorty" Monroe, 89 of Benton Harbor passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Royalton Manor Nursing Home in St. Joseph.

Per his wishes cremation has taken place.  In lieu of services there will be a memorial at the Monroe reunion in August.  Arrangements are by Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Coloma.  Donations in memory of Shorty may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan.

Shorty was born July 28, 1932 in Vestaburg, Michigan to William and Ruth (Stevens) Monroe as one of 11 children.  He was formerly employed by Miller Davis Construction Company in Lansing.

Shorty liked to hunt but most of all considered himself a good luck fishing buddy to all those he fished with.  He had an amazing sense of humor, telling jokes and stories to anyone who would listen.  Truly one of a kind.

Survivors  include his sister Geraldine (Robert) Leslie of Wheeling, ILL along with several nieces and nephews and a good friend Doug Miller of Benton Harbor.

Shorty was preceded in death by his wife Vivian, three brothers and six sisters.
