Steve's life began on December 5, 1949 in Benton Harbor, MI. He attended Bainbridge Center School and was a 1967 graduate of Watervliet High School. He married Dixie Latislaw, the love of his life, on March 29, 1969 and they resided in Bainbridge Township, where he spent the entire seventy-three years of his life. Together, they raised two children, Tim (Leah) Dibble, and Sarah (Chett) Brant. He co-owned Keepin' You In Stitches with his wife and son where he worked for twenty-six years. Holding numerous other jobs over the course of his life, Steve's work ethic was unbeatable, rising every day by 5 am to carry out his work-hard, play-hard lifestyle. He passed this diligent work-ethic on to so many whom he employed over the years.

In his free time, Steve loved to fish with his buddies, whether it be from a boat or on the ice.  You could often find him scouring the orchards of Bainbridge in search of the elusive morel mushroom. He was also famous for his amazing Christmas light display at his home on Bainbridge Center Rd, and each spring, he would outdo himself with his beautiful yard and flower gardens. Playing cards with the boys was another pastime he truly enjoyed. Above all, Steve truly cherished his family. He loved to watch his grandkids' sporting events where he was considered a grandpa to many, sharing his homemade pretzels and popcorn. Cooking was another talent he generously shared with family and friends. There wasn't much Steve couldn't do, living each day to the fullest.

In keeping with the strength with which he lived his life, Steve battled vigorously against AML, but, sadly, was called home on February 18, 2023.

Steve is survived by his wife and two children, five grandchildren Jessica, Samantha, and Timmy Dibble, and Nick and Tyler Brant. He is also survived by his brother Rex (Barb) Dibble, sister Ivy Pitcher, sister-in-law Judy (Gary) Walter, mother-in-law Clara Latislaw, close cousin Brian (Debbie) Dibble, along with many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents Norman and Annetta Dibble, brother Bruce Michael Dibble, father-in-law Clarence Latislaw, and his cherished dog, Harley.

Steve's family invites everyone whose life he touched to join them in celebrating his life at Duffield-Pastrick Funeral Home in Coloma. Visitation is Tuesday, February 21 from 5 - 7:30 pm and funeral services Wednesday, February 22 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery on Bainbridge Center Rd. The celebration of Steve's life will continue with a luncheon at Chief's. Steve will always be remembered for his contagious smile and laughter. He gave so much of himself to all those around him and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
