Verlin L. VanHorn, 92, of Coloma, passed away December 22, 2024 at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30th from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma, followed by a brief funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Private burial will be held at Lakeshore Cemetery in Hagar Shore. Verlin was born October 12, 1932 in Caraway, Ark. to Raymond and Florence (Vaughn) VanHorn. He was a veteran who served his country in the United States Air Force.  Following that, Verlin worked for Superior Steel for 25 years, Bendix Corporation for 10 years and finally Bohn Aluminum for five years, officially retiring on October 15, 1994. Verlin was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Watervliet, loved reading the Bible and enjoyed Civil War history.

Verlin is survived by his children Timothy VanHorn of St. Petersburg, Fla., Michael VanHorn of Livonia, Mich., Rick Lambert of South Haven and Larry Lambert of Minneapolis, Minn; his siblings Darlene VanHorn of Grand Rapids and Herman VanHorn of Benton Harbor; and six grandchildren. Also surviving are dear friends Fred and Nancy Boyer, Bill Garfield, and his friends at Midway Baptist Church.

Verlin was preceded in death by his infant daughter Teresa VanHorn and his daughter Darlinda Swanson.
