William "Hook" Parsons, 87 of Coloma passed away early Wednesday morning, October 5, 2016 peacefully at his home with family at his side.

William was born September 30, 1929 in Muskegon to Fawn and Hulda (Misner) Parsons.  He most recently was employed by Rex / Car Quest Auto Parts, retiring at age 79.  "Hook" was well known and loved by everyone he met.  He was a participant in Special Olympics functions with his special daughter Diane.  He was also a Korean War veteran, being awarded the Purple Heart in 1951.  He helped raise funds and dedicated the Korean War Memorial that now sits on the bluff in St. Joseph.  He moved to the area in 1951 where he met and married Donna Burnett.  Together they had four children, Dawn, Diane, Dale, and David

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, daughter Diane, and son David

As the last of six children, William was also preceded in death by three sisters; Marie Bixler, Mary Lou Barnes, and Jean Zufelt, and two brothers; Art and Edgar Parsons.

Survivors include his son Dale Parsons of Coloma, daughter Dawn (Parsons) Maxa of Hartford, Mich; two grandsons and one great grandson

A graveside burial of ashes with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, October 11 at 1:00 pm on the grounds of North Shore Memory Gardens.  Family and friends are welcome.
